Each year around the first week of August, Don and Ruth Ann Bloom play hosts to Don's brothers, Mick and Arlen, and their wives, Sharon and Beth, along with a few surprise visitors for a traditional week of lake side water festivities. While the guys spend most of the morning in a boat fishing, the women prefer to alternate between swimming and reading.
The most excitement came on Thursday evening when Suzi, Blake, and Cherie showed up to report that they had run into a family of bears on the highway a few miles from the cabin. The damage to the car was significant, but nothing compared to the trauma that Suzi and Cherie experienced. You will notice the photo of them posing by the bear a couple days later after their nerves had settled.

Each year, the Bloom brothers hold a friendly fishing competition to see who will catch the first, most, and biggest fish.
